Poem: Wash Your Feet
May I wash
your feet Lord with my tears? May I come into your throne room
and let you know I’m yours? May I cleanse your feet as I lay
before you; so that you will know that I am humble before you?
May I use my tears as I speak to you Lord, do you mind?
My tears flow
freely as in your spirit I stand, so can I just use them? The
feet are beautiful of those that preach the gospel and yours
Lord are the most beautiful feet I’ve ever seen; because they
have been so many places through your spirit I see.
They have
been busy to this day where your spirit leads. If I wash your
feet does that count for washing all the places they have been
by your spirit? Because the more I wash Lord the more humble I
grow. If I miss a spot Lord let me know.
I hope you
don’t mind if I take my time; I just want to stay here in your
presence for a while. I know the longer I stay the more I can
learn from your spirit that brings me here before you. I want
more of you Lord; more.
More than
yesterday to lead the way. More than the day before when you
opened the door; more Lord, more. If I wash your feet and humble
myself before you lord will you walk with me some more?
Will you lead
me Lord I pray as before you I stand today? I come to seek your
face. I come to know your grace. I come to leave here with more
of you than I came with.
Can I wash your feet Lord today?
